Parks & Trails Foundation of Cedar Park Announces 2026 Earth Day Celebration Presented by SCHEELS
Cedar Park, TX — April 22, 2026 — The Parks & Trails Foundation of Cedar Park (PTFCP) is excited to announce the return of its annual Earth Day Celebration, taking place Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lakeline Park. This free, family-friendly community event is the Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year and is expected to welcome more than 1,500 attendees.
The 2026 event is proudly presented by SCHEELS, which will soon open its newest Texas location in Cedar Park on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to outdoor recreation, community engagement, and stewardship of natural spaces.
The celebration will feature interactive environmental and educational booths hosted by local nonprofits, hands-on activities for families, live entertainment, a community drum circle, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, outdoor demonstrations, and opportunities to connect with local organizations that support sustainability and conservation.
“Our Earth Day Celebration brings together families, businesses, and community partners to celebrate the outdoors and the spaces that make Cedar Park such a special place to live,” said Callie Nelsen, Parks & Trails Events Director “We are grateful to SCHEELS for their leadership and investment in our community as they prepare to open their new store here.”
As presenting sponsor, SCHEELS will play a prominent role in the event while introducing its brand to the Cedar Park community ahead of its grand opening.
“At SCHEELS, we are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received and the meaningful relationships we’re already building here in Cedar Park,” said Cedar Park Store Leader Lucas Hachmeister. “It is a privilege to partner with the Parks & Trails Foundation for Earth Day and play a small part in caring for the spaces that bring this community together. We are excited to become a meaningful part of this community and support the surrounding areas for years to come.”
In addition to celebrating Earth Day, the event supports the Foundation’s mission to enhance, preserve, and expand parks, trails, and green spaces throughout Cedar Park. Donations raised during the event help fund community projects, volunteer initiatives, and the Foundation’s microgrant program, which supports local organizations delivering programs in parks and outdoor spaces.
Community members will also have opportunities to learn about upcoming projects, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support the continued growth and accessibility of Cedar Park’s parks system.
The event is free and open to the public, with donations encouraged to support the Foundation’s ongoing work. Members of the media are invited to attend.
