About Us

Imagine leaving your house and not realizing you won’t be back for 30 days. That is exactly what many families experience that come to rely on Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC CTX). Unexpectedly, their lives change when their child is born prematurely, becomes ill or is injured. And when a crisis hits, it’s a universal equalizer. Everyone is in the same place regardless of culture, background or income.

As partners in enabling family-centered care for three decades, RMHC CTX strives to be part of the solution in improving the lives of children and their families by providing programs that strengthen families during difficult times. Families are supported through four programs: the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Happy Wheels Carts and Healing Hearts. In our 31 year history, we have supported 17,000+ families by providing them 100,000+ room nights at our “home-away-from-home”, saved them millions of dollars in lodging and food expenses and gave them support when a medical crisis unexpectedly affected their family. Of these families, thousands came from Williamson County. Our family-centered care supports the healing process for children, reduces financial burdens for families, provides critical psycho-social support, enhances clinical outcomes and helps families resume normal activities more quickly.
