Julia M. Harrod, P.E., F.NSPE, is President and CEO of MWM DesignGroup, a Texas-based interdisciplinary firm providing architecture, landscape architecture, civil engineering, land surveying, and permitting services. She leads teams that partner with cities and counties to deliver infrastructure and community projects across Texas.
Harrod earned a degree in architecture from MIT and a master’s degree in engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
Active with NSPE and TSPE since 2001, she served as NSPE President from 2025–2026 and is an NSPE Fellow. She previously served as President of TSPE and the Austin Branch of ASCE and was named TSPE State Engineer of the Year in 2015. She has also supported engineering education and STEM initiatives through leadership roles with UT Austin CAEE and the Thinkery.
