JOB VISION: 
 
The Membership Manager is the Staff Member who will build relationships with and between members. The Membership Manager  is the “go-to” person to help build diversity and inclusion of the Chamber’s Membership. Through this, the Chamber will find its future leadership and leaders within our community.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION: 
 
To act as Membership Manager  for the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.  This position will be the main contact for the members of the Chamber. Membership Manager will help plan, coordinate, and conduct a variety of Membership Programs and events, work with volunteers and develop relationships with our members.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
 
GENERAL DUTIES:

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & RECRUITMENT | Membership Manager  will coordinate all aspects of Membership Development and Recruitment. This will include recruitment and onboarding of new members. Development of existing members will come in many forms. Some of these will be events, networking, introductions, and consistent promotion of program of work.
 
BUDGET & FINANCE | Membership Manager  will coordinate a variety of event and programming budgets. He/she will be expected to work with the Vice President and turn in to the CEO a requested budget for these programs during the budgetary process.
 
EVENTS & PROGRAMMING | Membership Manager  will participate in the planning and execution of the Chamber’s Membership Events and Programming. These include, but are not limited to, Ribbon Cuttings and Ground Breakings, Lunch Connect, Business After Hours, Power Networking Breakfast, Women’s Connection, Cash Mob, Seeds of Gratitude and other Membership related activities. Membership Manager  will also participate in the Major Events of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.
 
SPECIFIC MEMBERSHIP DUTIES:                                                 
 
MEMBERSHIP INVESTMENTS | Membership Manager  will oversee the onboarding of all members. This will include providing members with a “Chamber 101” Orientation. This will also include assigning an Ambassador to help with the onboarding process. Communications will include delivery of a New Member Packet, letters from Membership Manager , President/CEO, Board Chair and Ambassador Chair monthly. This will also include ensuring social media welcomes as well as other onboarding.
 
Membership Manager  will be responsible for ensuring account status of members in terms of addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and representatives are current and up-to-date.
 
Membership Manager  will oversee requests for cancellations in a timely manner and will follow up with an Exit Interview.
 
 
COMMUNICATIONS                                           
 
OUTREACH MATERIAL | Membership Manager  will coordinate the development and maintenance of Chamber outreach material. Membership Manager  will remain in contact with existing members throughout the year to discuss Chamber programming and to enhance the retention database.
 
AMBASSADOR PROGRAM                                              
 
RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION | Membership Manager  will supervise the Ambassador Program. It will be up to Membership Manager  to ensure the Ambassador Program has quality representatives in it and they know the most up-to-date programming happening in the Chamber.
 
COMMUNICATIONS | Membership Manager  will be responsible for all communication aspects with the Ambassadors. This includes keeping them informed of upcoming meetings, Ribbon Cuttings or Ground Breakings, Business After Hours, Lunch Connect, and any other Chamber activity.
 
SHEPHERDING | Membership Manager  will oversee shepherding assignments to the Ambassadors. The shepherding of new members is an important aspect of the retention process. Membership Manager will oversee reviewing how to approach shepherding with the Ambassadors at least yearly.
 
 
RIBBON CUTTINGS AND GROUND BREAKINGS                               
 
RIBBON CUTTINGS & GROUNDBREAKINGS | Membership Manager  will coordinate all aspects of ribbon cuttings and ground breakings at the appropriate Membership level. This coordination will include working with Chamber Policies on dates and times. Invitations will be sent out as a calendar invite to the Chamber Staff, Board, Ambassadors and other VIPs.
 
 
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Recruit future members to the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.
  • Understand and adhere to the policies set forth by the Employee Handbook.
  • Practice exceptional customer service and teamwork at all times.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Work at all fund-raising events.
  • Work all select Membership Manager events.
  • To be alert to things that needs to be done, and without being asked takes the initiative to get them done.  Some of these tasks or activities will not be listed as part of the position description.
